I have been practicing law since 1978 after graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I began my career as a trial attorney with the State of Wisconsin Public Defender's Office where I tried numerous jury trials including high-profile murder cases.

Since joining my present law firm in 1985, I have concentrated my practice in the family law area. I handle all types of family law cases including divorce, legal separation, child custody and support, maintenance (spousal support), post-judgment modification.

I have been admitted to practice in all courts in the State of Wisconsin and the Eastern and Western Federal District Courts. I have served as a speaker at family law seminars and have served on numerous boards for various agencies, including the YWCA and Women's Resource Center. I am still very active in fundraising for the Women's Resource Center. I was named Women Entrepreneur of the Year by the Women's Business Association and received an award in 1999 as the Volunteer of the Year by the Racine County Bar Association.

I understand the emotional and financial issues involved in all family law cases that I handle and I and my experienced support staff are always available to assist and answer questions and concerns at all times.

Even outside of my law practice, I am still very conscious of the concept of family.  I was born in Edgerton, Wisconsin in 1952, where I was raised on a dairy farm in Milton.  This farm is still in the family today.  I currently practice law with my husband, Attorney Lincoln Muprhy.  One of the four children I raised also currently practices law with me today, Attorney Matthew P. Johnson.
